The State Department said following their meeting, Secretaries Blinken and Ramey “reaffirmed the importance of ensuring that Ukraine has the economic, security, and humanitarian assistance it needs to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
The two leaders also discussed “the need for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to secure the release of hostages and lay the foundation for a sustainable peace.”
Secretary Blinken has been a frequent visitor to Israel. There have been 10 attacks since the Hamas attack on October 7 last year.
After his recent meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu, Secretary Blinken said the Israeli prime minister had accepted Washington’s so-called “bridging offer.” The goal is to resolve the conundrum and bring Israel and Hamas one step closer to an agreement.
