Roma have entered into negotiations to sign Alexander Sorlos from Villarreal.

The Norwegian striker is in prime position to replace Romelu Lukaku at Manchester City.

According to the latest report, Corriere dello sportsThe Giallorossi have made a €20 million bid for Sorloth in the last few hours.

Villarreal rejected the bid, deeming the asking price unsatisfactory for a player who scored 26 goals and provided six assists last season.

Sorlot is a player who has caught the eye of Roma manager Florent Ghisolfi, while Daniele De Rossi also believes he would fit into his preferred system.

With Lukaku, Azmoun and Belotti out of the picture, Roma are keen to bring in a new striker for De Rossi, especially given the team’s pre-season training camp is just around the corner.

Talks are ongoing, but the paper speculates that Roma would need to bridge the gap and submit an offer worth close to €30 million to Villarreal, half of their demands, to reach an agreement.
