Washington -Washington’s headquarters of the US International Development Agency (USAID) said President Elon Musk, president of the government, said that President Donald Trump gave a green light to close the institution.

According to the RIA NOVOSTI correspondent, media crews gather near the USAID headquarters, just a few blocks from the White House, waiting for the Democrats’ speeches against the closure of the institution that manages more than $ 4 billion in fiscal year in 2023.

Some protesters had signs that read “US, seriously? Dictatorship?” And “What is next?”

On the other hand, former USAID staff also gathered in front of the building, questioning the fate of the current employment state.

The USAID staff told RIA Novosti, “I can’t believe it, my life is different from last week. This morning I applied for a job. This is my life now.

Some media reported that the Trump administration had deployed dozens of USAID officials on vacation after the US cut aid to other countries.

Previously, on Sunday (2/2), Musk called USAID as “criminal organizations,” and said, “It is time for the organization to die.”

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that he is currently a USAID director.

Rubio says USAID does not mean that the US State Department should follow the policy direction of the US Department of State and the current situation should stop the program.
