Wayne Madsen has signed a one -year extension with Derbyshire.

Wayne Madsen has signed a new one -year contract with Derbyshire, which will remain in the club until the end of the 2026 campaign.

MADSEN, who won second place in Derbyshire’s best run score list, joined County in 2009 and became one of the modern County cricket’s modern players.

MADSEN led Derbyshire to the 2012 Division 2 title, returned to the role of Club Capain before the 2025 season and began with a win with Rothesay County Championship.

The 41 -year -old boy has achieved high results in both red and white ball crickets and will succeed this summer.

Arthur’s Cricket Officer said: “Wayne remains one of the best players in the county game.

“He is pleased to extend time with us in more years because he is our leader in the dressing room and the field.”

Madsen added: “This club is my home and is an honor to lead this great county.

“I still feel as if I’m at the top of my game and I don’t want to slow down soon. Mickey’s big things are on the horizon of Mickey and I’m happy to be part.”
