We warn against miscalculations that could lead to imminent danger.

UNIFIL spokesman Andrea Tenenti, in a statement on the situation in southern Lebanon, confirmed that the conflict in the south was continuing and destruction was spreading on both sides, warning of the risk of miscalculation.

“Tensions are rising in the south, the fighting is non-stop, people are dying and destruction is spreading on both sides,” UNIFIL spokesman Andrea Tenenti said.

He added: “We warn of the danger of a miscalculation that could put us in imminent danger. There is still room for a political solution between Lebanon and Israel.”

“The situation along the Blue Line is concerning,” he stressed.

The Israeli military said on Thursday that its air defenses had intercepted two drones launched from Lebanon, one of which was launched off the coast of Nahariya, and yesterday reported that its fighter jets had attacked Hezbollah infrastructure.

Lebanese media reported that Israeli artillery shelled the village of Kfar Shoba to prevent civil defense teams from putting out fires started by the early morning shelling.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah said it fired anti-aircraft missiles at Israeli fighter jets in southern Lebanese airspace on Wednesday night, causing the Israeli warplanes to fall back and retreat behind the border.

Tensions and shelling continue along the border between Lebanon and Israel, and the international community and the United Nations are making efforts to contain the conflict, fearing that it could escalate into a full-scale war.
