West Indies are scheduled to clash with England in the ODI series. The WI vs ENG 1st ODI will be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium and the series will see three matches. Shai Hope leads West Indies in the series.

Home team WI lost to Sri Lanka in the recent ODI series. In bowling, despite good teamwork, they only managed to win one out of three matches in a rain-affected series. West Indies are quite a strong team in the country and have been in stellar form recently.

They will be looking to dominate the English at home, taking advantage of the fact that the visitors are lacking their skipper and several key members of the series. Below is the projected 11 for West Indies in their first ODI match against England.

Brandon King

Bradon King will open the batting for West Indies in the first ODI against England. He scored 46 runs across three matches in the previous ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Evin Lewis

Evin Lewis will be the team’s other opener. He recorded an unbeaten century in his lone match of the entire series.

Shai Hope (C & WK)

Shai Hope will captain the team and take wicket-keeper in the next match as well. The right-handed batsman also keeps the stumps on the side.

Roston Chase

Roston Chase will be another batsman in the middle order. He went undefeated on 33 in one game and scored 41 points in two games. He also captured two wickets while bowling.

Sherpan Rutherford

Sherface Rutherford, who scored 204 runs in three matches, all with half-centuries, was the team’s star performer in the previous series. He will be another batsman in the playing 11.

Shimron Hetmaier

Shimron Hetmyer returns to the squad and will be part of the playing 11 for the first game. The left-handed batsman was absent in the last series. He is a strong lower-order hitter in the team.

Romario Shepherd

Romario Shepherd will be an all-rounder in the playing eleven. The right-handed batsman went on to score no runs in two matches in the last series with an economy of 6.71. He will be looking to make a comeback against England.

Kutakeshi Moty

Gudakesh Motie will lead West Indies’ spin attack in the first ODI game. The left-arm spinner took four wickets across three matches in the last series.

Hayden Walsh

As the home side have a variety of pacey all-rounders in their squad, they may edge Hayden Walsh as another spinner in the playing eleven.

Jayden Seales will be another member of the pace department. The right-arm pacer failed to take a wicket in the previous series and will be looking to make a comeback.
