There’s still two months left until Paramount+ takes us into Starfleet’s secret black-ops division known as Section 31 for next year’s first “Star Trek” streaming movie, but the online platform just released a new “Section 31” video. It explains more about the secret organization and has definitely piqued our interest for the feature film’s release on January 24, 2025.
The new preview, aptly titled “What is Section 31?,” gives fans a chance to learn the facts surrounding the formation of this covert espionage operation and its dark past as a vital intelligence-gathering division that traces its roots back to the 20th century. I am receiving it. Early days of the federation.
This fascinating behind-the-scenes guide provides a great summary of the group’s history as seen across several seasons of the “Star Trek” television series, beginning with 1998’s “Deep Space Nine.”
“Welcome to Section 31. Here’s your black badge. Now get ready to report. Secret societies have existed since the beginning of the Federation and Starfleet itself. Despite their tactics, their efforts have not served the Federation. “I’m doing it.” Here’s the official synopsis for the show:
