What worries me most on election night

MONews
1 Min Read

Rachel Maddow: “Imagine election night this November. It’s a state-by-state race between two parties. Democrats take Nevada. Republicans take Arizona. Republicans win big in Pennsylvania, but Democrats outstrip them in Wisconsin and Michigan. The country is waiting for Georgia. If Georgia turns red, it’s Trump. If Georgia turns blue, it’s Harris.”

“Then the local headlines started to roll in. There were reports of unspecified ‘issues’ with voting in Fulton County. And in Gwinnett County. And in DeKalb, Coffee, and Spalding counties. Republican officials were refusing to certify the results in their counties. They said they were conducting a ‘reasonable investigation.'”

“As the legal challenge plays out in the courts, there will be a growing tide of misinformation, confusion and propaganda, fueled by unsubstantiated claims that something was wrong in the Georgia county and similar noise and possibly certification denials in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Mexico and Nevada.”
