The match will be played on Wednesday 12 February at 7.30pm GMT in the first match between the two clubs since the FA Cup fourth round weekend.

BBC Radio Merseyside’s Giulia Bould said: “I think a lot of Everton people are hoping this derby will be the last evening under the lights at Goodison Park.” soccer focus thereabouts. Now that wish has come true.

Everton vs Liverpool new date

The good news for Liverpool is that Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is likely to be available due to suspension.

Arne Slot’s side were six points ahead at the top of the table when the realigned date for January 13 was announced and they were playing against a side who had fallen behind due to the postponement.

Everton were clear of the relegation zone when the fixture was confirmed and Moyes held his first press conference since returning to the club that afternoon.
