On January 22, 2024, BCCI announced the IPL 2024 schedule for the first 21 matches. The first match of IPL ’24 will be played between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, this game will start at 8 PM instead of 7:30 PM. All remaining evening games begin at 7:30 p.m.
This is because the opening ceremony is ahead of the first game. Since the opening ceremony takes about an hour, the BCCI delays the first match by about 30 minutes to allow the opening ceremony to conclude in a timely manner. There is no official announcement regarding the awards ceremony yet, but BCCI sources have revealed this unofficially.
Likewise, there is no confirmation as to which stars will appear at this awards ceremony. However, BCCI may disclose this a week before the tournament. Famous singer Arijit singh, actress Tammanna Bhatia and Rashmika mandanna were the performers at the IPL 2023 event held in Ahmedabad.
CSK skipper MS Dhoni is expected to return to the cricket field after IPL 2023 at the Chepauk Stadium on March 22. As confirmed by CSK pacer Deepak Chahar, Chennai will begin their training camp from March 1 with dhoni. March 22 will also witness Virat Kohli’s return to the cricket field after two months. He has been ruled out of the ongoing five-match Test series between India and England citing personal reasons.
